Springer basic sets and modular Springer correspondence for classical types

We define the notion of basic set data for finite groups (building on the notion of basic set, but including an order on the irreducible characters as part of the structure), and we prove that the Springer correspondence provides basic set data for Weyl groups. Then we use this to determine explicitly the modular Springer correspondence for classical types (defined over a base field of odd characteristic $p$, and with coefficients in a field of odd characteristic $?\ne p$): the modular case is obtained as a restriction of the ordinary case to a basic set. In order to do so, we compare the order on bipartitions introduced by Dipper and James with the order induced by the Springer correspondence. We provide a quick proof, by sorting characters according to the dimension of the corresponding Springer fibre, an invariant which is directly computable from symbols.     

The character and the wave front set correspondence in the stable range

We relate the distribution characters and the wave front sets of unitary representation for real reductive dual pairs of type I in the stable range.

Finite deformation analysis of COD,J-integral and crack tip intense strain region in plane strain large-scale yielding

A finite element analysis was performed to simulate crack tip blunting and the development of the intense strain region in a small compact tension specimen (0.4 T CT) of SA533B-1 under plane strain large-scale yielding, with the condition of large-geometry change around the crack tip taken into consideration. The region where the equivalent plastic strain $\text{}\text{?}$g3_p is greater than 0.15 was defined as the intense strain region, which corresponded to the recrystallized-etched zone delineated experimentally around the blunting crack tip. The development of the intense strain region was discussed as a function of the J-integral and the crack opening displacement. A linear relationship was obtained between the plastic work W_p dissipated within the intense strain region and (J/σ_y)² or b², where b is the crack opening displacement, defined as the separation of the two points at which the boundary of the intense strain region surrounding the crack tip intersects with the free surfaces of the crack.

Quantum McKay Correspondence for Disc Invariants of Toric Calabi–Yau 3-orbifolds

We announce a result on quantum McK ay correspondence for disc invariants of outer legs in toric Calabi–Yau 3-orbifolds, and illustrate our method in a special example [C3/Z5(1, 1, 3)].     

A Coulomb-related family of potentials having zero-energy bound states

We propose here a new large class of singular central potentials having zero-energy bound states for many values of angular momenta. The potentials are shown to be closely related to the standard attractive Coulomb interaction. Some of them admit the E≠0$E\ne 0$ bound states as well. A quantum–classical correspondence is also discussed.     

Module Correspondences for Twisted Group Algebras

Abstract

Let G and A be finite groups such that (|G|, |A|) = 1. Let K be an algebraically closed field with Char K = 0. Denote by K ^α G the twisted group algebra of G over K with factor set α. In this paper we prove that if A acts homogeneously on K ^α G, then there exists an action of A on G, and there is a one-to-one correspondence between the set of A-invariant irreducible K ^α G-modules and the set of irreducible K ^α C _G (A)-modules.     

On noncommutative piecewise Noetherian rings

We extend the definition of a piecewise Noetherian ring to the noncommutative case, and investigate various properties of such rings. In particular, we show that a ring with Krull dimension is piecewise Noetherian. Certain fully bounded piecewise Noetherian rings have Gabriel dimension and exhibit the Gabriel correspondence between prime ideals and indecomposable injective modules.
